2011 Elections: Arms Build-Up Rises, As Senator's Mother-in-Law Kidnapped
Gov Saraki of Kwara State

Written by Watchdogreporters

The killer squad  of Governor  Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State  may have been planning big  for Senator Julius Ucha, as his  68-year-old mother-in-law  was kidnapped, yesterday.

There were speculation that  the woman (Mrs. Maria Nwinya) was kidnapped and that her kidnap was politically motivated. Senator Ucha has been having political problems with Martin Elechi, an Ikwo by tribe, over poor treatment of Ezza people in the state.

Ucha has been over the years opposed to the inhuman abuse of Ebonyians by the administration of Elechi.  The state government is unhappy that Senator Ucha is  challenging incumbent Gov. Elechi, under the platform of the All Nigeria's Peoples Party of Nigeria (ANPP), now led by Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who hails from the state.

Ucha's mother-in -law was kidnapped while saying her prayers, in her home village sunday night, according to the state police command's, deputy commissioner Yahaya Ardo. The police bos was not not if  it was act of kidnapping or abduction.

But, the political under-tone in the criminal act is not ruled out, according to sources.
Meanwhile, there are increasing arms build up in various states, ahead of 2011 general elections by desperate politicans. But the surveillance of various security agents in the country appears to be yielding fruits.
